Eastside Taijutsu
Okay, the new web site is up and running. I’ve been adding to it, slowly, day-by-day. I think there is enough content there to give people a small idea of what I’m all about, but I’ll be adding more and more as time goes on.
Rome wasn’t built in a day!
Some days, I really hate people…
Here’s how the situation went down:
Employee: I want to do a bunch of upgrades to my computer.
Me: We’re not going to pay for it, but if you feel like spending your own money, go right ahead.
Employee: Cool!
Later…
Employee: Hey, look at all the cool stuff I did with my computer! Tim said I could!
Partner: Well, if Tim said you could, expense all the stuff you bought.
More later…
IT Manager E-Mail: Employee expensed stuff for his computer because you said we would pay for it.
Me: WHAT? I explicitly told him that we WOULD NOT pay for it…
This is one of those stupid situations where I can easily see that the “no” mentality looks REALLY good. Just tell everyone “no” and then you can’t get into trouble…
